In this park you are most likely to see elephant, buffalo, giraffe, large troops of baboons, impala, and sometimes even lions which have developed the habit of resting in trees to escape the annoying flies. Many flamingos find their food on the banks of the shallow soda lake while pods of hippos try to protect themselves in the water against the heat of the sun. The game drive ends shortly before sunset after which your driver takes you via steep serpentine roads up to the Ngorongoro Crater Highlands with some breathtaking views back down to the lake and across the park.
